The Day the Earth Stood Still: new trailer out

    Posted by Gene in Sci-Fi

How about this? New 5 minute trailer for The Day The Earth Stood Still. I was against this remake at first, especially when I heard it had Keanu in it, but the things i’ve seen about it make me excited. If this trailer is any indication, it should be a worthy remake.

    The Road

Posted by Gene in Book Movies, News, Oscar Buzz

Viggo Mortenson looking rather haggard. One of my most anticipated movies coming out this year looks to be moved to 2009.  I’m disappointed but from what i’ve read around the internet it might be because they are re-working a few parts of the movie.

A recent screening has to said to have not gone well, but i’ve also read just as many good reviews. This review by Mike Sampson on joblo.com has to be the most even handed and constructive i’ve read so far.

I’m still looking forward to the movie as I really enjoyed the book, and still have high hopes for an oscar quality movie experience.

    Max Payne

Posted by Gene in Video Game Movies

Turns out Max Payne hits with young male movie-goers, snagging 18 million over the weekend.  He took a moment to show up on Saturday’s SNL to get Sandberg back for the pet-wispering sketch.  He may have even upstagged Palin a bit.

I haven’t seen it yet, what did you all think?  Was it just over-rated, video game enduced movie drivel or was it a pleasant surprise?

    Watchmen trailer vs. comic book

Posted by Gene in Blockbusters, Super Heros

The upcoming Watchmen movie is one that i’m really flipping out about, I simply can’t wait to see it and Fox’s meddling with the release has me really hating them these days. But if you’re like me and can’t seem to stop searching for all the Watchmen info you can find, check this out.

The creators of the Watchmen movie, have meticulously re-created scenes that match the original comic art much like they did in Sin City and 300.  This teaser for the upcoming Watchmen movie, recut with the comic book art that inspired each scene is very cool. Check out the original link from iBored.com too.
