Sherlock Holmes looks intersting
Kind of reminds me of a “Butch Kassidy and Sundance Kid” sort of movie. It could do well and revitalize a classic story for a new market. Definitely caught my eye.

Review: Star Trek
I have to say that I’ve been looking forward to this movie for quite some time now. I finally got to get out and see it opening weekend and it did not disappoint. I am now thoroughly convinced that J.J. Abrams is a genius film maker/story teller and will devour pretty much anything he produces from here on out. This new Star Trek Kicking & Screaming video
story works on several different levels. If you are a long time Trekkie/Trekker
you’re going to love it for all of its references and classic recreations of dialog and snippets from the original series, if you couldn’t care less about Star Trek and just want to see a great movie that’s both engaging and entertaining then you’re also going to love this movie. (more…)

Review: Watchmen
I’ll have to admit, I am one of those people who read the graphic novel both when it came out originally and later in life as an adult. It is one of those stories that changes the way you see things. I always hoped that Hollywood would turn out a movie version of this story and at the same time feared they would as well. There has been plenty of terrible super hero movies, so many in fact I often wonder how the good ones are made at all. I really liked the Watchmen, I would say I liked it as much as last year’s Batman: the Dark Night movie. Even though I was very familiar with the story and the characters I found the movie to be faithful to both the heart and soul of the original story and as well visually, as documented even copied frame-for-frame as much as possible.
